Frogham Fair is a traditional village fete providing a fun afternoon for all the family. Young and old alike will find plenty to keep them entertained!
There is a large arena where two shows are put on throughout the afternoon. In recent years Frogham Fair has played host to a variety of acts including stunt riders, comedy cars and the very popular 'Jive Pony' which involved a trio performing their gymnastic act on horseback.
2017 brings the amazing Adams Axemen, the country's best known lumberjack display team. They are a team of professional showmen who enjoy nothing more than entertaining a crowd!
The Adams Axemen were founded in 1966 as the New Forest Axemen hence their association with Frogham Fair. Members of the Adams Axemen have competed around the world, including Australia, New Zealand, America, Canada and Europe, and we look forward to welcoming them here in The New Forest this July. Here is a link to their website for further information www.adamsaxemen.co.uk
We also welcome Chitty Chitty Bang Bang to our main arena this year.
As every year we will have a wide variety of stalls for visitors to look around. These include crafts, local produce, plants, books, raffles and tombolas to name just a few.
We have a bar selling local ales and cider, and a Pimms tent. Sustenance can be found at the BBQ providing locally made sausages and beef burgers accompanied by some lovely fresh salads; or in the Tea and Cake marquee. There are also various stalls selling ice creams and fresh doughnuts.
There is also a proper coffee tent next to the stage upon which there will be some live music.
We have an extensive area of fun things to entertain the children including dexterity games, bouncy castle, swing boats, plate smashing, skittles , Punch & Judy and much more.
Terrier racing is held throughout the afternoon. If you have a terrier and would like to enter the races just bring him or her along to the Fair. There is also a Tote for those who would like to try their luck guessing the winners.
We are pleased to say that a few kind local automobile enthusiasts will be displaying their beautiful classic motor cars in the paddock adjoining the main field.
The afternoon ends with the famous wheelbarrow race up Blissford Hill. There are separate men's and women's races. Will you be brave enough to take part?
Blissford hill is short but rather steep to say the least! Come and give it a go.
